AXON Pre-Slitted Jute Matting is Heavy-duty natural erosion control and tree planting mat. Woven from 100% jute, with planting slits cut in at the factory so seedlings go straight through the mat.

This is an open-weave, heavy-grade jute fabric that holds soil on slopes and banks while vegetation establishes. The mat shields the surface from raindrop impact and surface runoff, holds moisture close to the seedbed and suppresses weeds. As the vegetation takes hold, the jute breaks down into organic matter, so there is nothing to remove and no plastic left in the soil.

Six slits per square meter are cut into the mat during manufacture. Trees, shrubs and tubestock are planted through the slits, which saves on-site cutting and keeps planting spacing consistent across the site.
